The ZIMA Electric Bus, one of Iran’s domestically developed public transportation products, underwent an operational evaluation program on the urban routes of Isfahan from Sunday, June 7, to Thursday, June 11. During this five-day trial, the vehicle demonstrated reliable and impressive performance under real-world operating conditions.
Throughout the evaluation period, the ZIMA electric bus covered a total distance of 1,106 kilometers and provided more than 68 hours of continuous service, successfully proving its technical capabilities and operational reliability in daily urban transportation.
One of the most significant outcomes of the trial was the outstanding performance of the bus’s battery system and energy management technology. Despite operating for extended hours each day with the air conditioning system continuously running, approximately 25% of the battery capacity remained available even after traveling around 250 kilometers.
It is worth noting that the vehicle’s dual electric motor architecture, mounted close to the rear wheels, together with the elimination of the conventional driveshaft and its associated mechanical components, has played a key role in reducing energy consumption and increasing driving range. This innovative design further demonstrates the bus’s capability to provide reliable and continuous service in demanding urban transit operations.
The successful completion of this five-day evaluation not only highlights the technical achievements of a domestically developed electric bus but also represents an important step toward expanding clean transportation, reducing environmental emissions, and promoting advanced technologies in Iran’s public transit sector.
